- ➤ Midland will host its first Permian Power conference at Horseshoe Arena on Sept. 29—30, where over 500 energy leaders will gather to discuss rising power demand and grid challenges in the Permian Basin. - ➤ The Midland City Council approved a bid for a $10.2 million renovation of the Quail Course at Hogan Park with Mid-America Golf and Landscape set to install a new irrigation system, improve drainage, update greens turf, and revise tee boxes and bunkers using funds from increased user fees. - ➤ More than 800 new laws will affect Midland County and Texas, and they change rules so notaries must see signers in person, judges must keep work records, gift card tampering is a crime, and DUI in school zones becomes a felony—key changes that will impact legal practices and consumer protection. - ➤ The City of Midland celebrated the extension of Occidental Parkway from SH 349 to CR 1150 yesterday — it will officially open later this week to offer drivers a smoother route through Midland. CBS7
