Dog Rescue R Us got a new transport bus thanks to community donations after Old Faithful retired due to engine failure.
The bus will make its first journey today to carry dogs to shelters and foster homes (saving pets across Midland).
Midland's Torchy Swinson gained 1+ million TikTok followers by sharing advice from her home (Manor Park) and was named this month’s Hendricks’ Hero through a program sponsored by Big J Mobile Homes.
Her posts now attract visitors who come to thank her.

Shannon Harrell of Odessa started Shan's Flavored Pickles three years ago from her apartment and now ships unique-flavored pickles beyond Texas.

DRUM TAO will perform its new show The Best at Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb.

🎓 Education
Lamar Elementary will close next school year when MISD converts the campus into a disciplinary alternative center.
Students will move to Bonham, Jane Long, and Burnet Elementary schools and the facility will serve as headquarters for MISD Police (a move to save millions).
Midland ISD Board of Trustees approved a three-year partnership with Third Future Schools to manage South Elementary—aiming for long-term improvements after concerns over mistreatment.
The campus will remain a neighborhood school with local students given priority enrollment.
