EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Lamar Elementary will close next school year when MISD converts the campus into a disciplinary alternative center. Students will move to Bonham, Jane Long, and Burnet Elementary schools and the facility will serve as headquarters for MISD Police (a move to save millions). CBS7
- ➤ Midland ISD Board of Trustees approved a three-year partnership with Third Future Schools to manage South Elementary—aiming for long-term improvements after concerns over mistreatment. The campus will remain a neighborhood school with local students given priority enrollment. CBS7
