- ➤ A child was hit by a car near Fasken Elementary in northwest Midland yesterday afternoon— the child was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital and is waiting to be transferred to Lubbock for further treatment. CBS7
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Midland ISD has launched the Health Occupations Students of America program for 58 health science students from local high schools to compete and earn up to four certifications before graduation — the program gives students hands-on experience and shadowing opportunities in healthcare and will hold its state competition April 15th through 17th in Rock Round. - ➤ Yesterday, Midland Mayor Lori Blong testified before a Senate committee in support of Senate Bill 7, a measure to create a fund of 1 billion dollars per year for water projects and regional planning in West Texas. She spoke on behalf of the West Texas Water Partnership (a collaboration between Midland, Abilene and San Angelo) as experts warned that failing to address water issues could cost Texas over 300 billion dollars in economic losses over the next 15 years.
