- ➤ Midland County Commissioners Court recognized explosive detection K9 Mia’s retirement after years of service with the Sheriff’s Office and across West Texas. The 13-year-old dog, who joined in 2018, will remain with her handler, Kevin Bullard, as the K9 program continues with new support dogs. CBS7
- ➤ A lane on Garfield Street between Metz Place and Culpeper Drive and a lane on Maxwell between Garfield and Lanham will be closed for utility work from April 9 to April 16. Drivers are advised to plan alternative routes. CBS7
- ➤ Midland Animal Services was one of eight agencies to receive $150K from a statewide spay and neuter pilot program on March 19 to help lower pet overpopulation. City leaders say staff will manage the program and track monthly results (ensuring effective use of funds). CBS7
