CRIME NEWS

  • Jeramiah David Hall pled guilty in the Wagner Noel front loader assault case and was sentenced to 15 years in prison for aggravated assault against a peace officer after stealing a front loader from the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center on October 20th, 2023 — court records confirm his conviction.  NewsWest9

  • Ireland Elementary School held a celebration for its first grade teacher of the year—swearing in 20 students as the first Junior Police Force at the school.  NewsWest9

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday, Midland City Council passed a new ordinance that tightens licensing requirements and operational standards for massage parlors—aiming to reduce illicit operations.  NewsWest9
  • Today, the Midland City Council approved extra funding to boost water flow at the Paul Davis Well Field where five new wells already supply up to 3 million gallons a day. The project will finish upgrades by July and will add more pump power and advanced treatment to increase daily capacity to up to 10 million gallons for emergencies.  CBS7

  • Medical Center Health System hired Dr. Timothy Benton as its new Chief Medical Officer, effective Monday, April 14. He led care teams at TTUHSC Permian Basin Campus for many years and will guide the system as it plans future patient care.  CBS7
