Odessa College Students in Philanthropy donated $2,500 to the Salvation Army of Odessa—supporting its 24/7 shelter and daily dinner service, a move that will fund case management for community members.

An oil well surfaced near a local church and released a mix of oil and water in a blowout (when underground pressure built up) that affected the property.

Midland College hosted its annual Legacy Scholars End-of-Year Celebration where students were honored for academic success and community service.

Participants volunteered 10,720 hours during the 2025–2026 academic year and helped raise funds for local nonprofits supporting mental health services and scholarships.

The City of Midland announced lane closures on Midland Drive between Tanforan and Cardinal for utility work from today to April 28, while lanes on Tyler Street, Cherry Lane and Garden Lane remain closed until April 28 for an event at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church + drivers are advised to take alternate routes.
