- ➤ Midland will host its first Brick Convention on July 11-12 at the Bush Convention Center — featuring massive LEGO displays, celebrity meet-and-greets, live builds and themed zones for fans of all ages; ticket proceeds will support Creations for Charity to provide new sets for underprivileged children. - ➤ Midland ISD senior Jillian Bejil earned a prestigious National Merit Scholarship as the first from Young Women’s Leadership Academy — she plans to attend Washington and Lee as a Johnson Scholar this fall. CBS7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Odessa's city council approved AI adaptive signal timing systems to be installed at five Highway 191 intersections connecting Midland’s Andrews Highway and Odessa’s 42nd Street. The project + funded by a TxDOT grant + is set to adjust signals in real time to improve traffic flow and safety. CBS7
