A GM Sierra (traveling westbound in the right lane) struck a pedestrian on IH-20 on May 12 at 1:00 a.m. (the 49-year-old man from Venezuela was pronounced dead at the scene) as other vehicles ran over him.

On May 15, a 38-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash on West Loop 250 North when he lost control trying to pass two vehicles and hit a guardrail—witnesses said he was riding a 2004 Harley Davidson Sportster at high speed.

The Arts Council of Midland is hosting the 41st annual Celebration of the Arts at Bush Convention Center from May 16 to May 18—today features free admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with over 50 artists showcasing work in various media, along with events such as a Premiere Party on Friday and a classic car show on Sunday.
