- ➤ Midland ISD announced names and mascots for two new middle schools opening as part of the Bond program. The campus on Gist Avenue is now Midland Middle School with the Dawgs as mascot while the campus on Neely Avenue is renamed John “Randy” Storie Middle School with the Buffalo as mascot — a tribute to the late band director Randy Storie.
