Good morning, Midland.

Riley Green will headline an outdoor country music concert today at Midland County Horseshoe—doors open at 4:00 p.m. and music begins at 7:30 p.m. with food, drinks, and local vendors on site, and nearly 10,000 fans are expected.

The City of Midland’s sales tax collection is nearly 9% ahead of the FY 2025 pace with a year-to-date total of $55.743M, which helps lower property tax rates.

The June report shows strong sales activity (and a favorable audit adjustment) boosted revenue.

The City of Midland held a ribbon-cutting for Phase 1 of Beal Park transformation yesterday and began Phase 2 work — adding lighted fields, an amphitheater and custom playground with grant support.

The park project at 5200 W. Wall St. is set to complete Phase 2 by 2028.
