- ➤ The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shut down six massage parlors in Midland and Big Spring for suspected human trafficking after investigators found ads for sexual services, unlicensed employees living onsite, and other violations—officials said all establishments are owned by Wanli Peng—and the owner was barred from operating additional massage businesses. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ After a failed bond election, Midland College launched a plan to repurpose classroom space into specialized lab areas to support high demand technical education and health science programs. The college is renewing its campus and will enroll additional students starting Fall 2025—aiming to meet local workforce needs. CBS7

- ➤ The Midland County Utility District ended its contracts with Permian Basin Water Resources, LLC, Paleo Land Company, and Park Water Company — letting it operate independently as a political subdivision — and it does not provide water to any customers yet.
