- ➤ Senior Life Midland held its annual Beat the Heat Fan Drive yesterday to collect cooling fans for homebound-seniors in Midland and Odessa to help them beat the summer heat. The group reached its goal of 150 community-donated fans and will continue accepting online donations as high temperatures and rising costs challenge local seniors. CBS7
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A fire on Sequoia Drive in northwest Midland displaced one family on June 29 when firefighters found the home empty — no injuries were reported and the Red Cross was notified as the investigation continues. CBS7
- ➤ The Midland Police Department reported that a motorcyclist was in critical condition after a crash Saturday on the 3600 block of W. Illinois Ave when a 2003 Kawasaki not wearing protective gear was struck from behind by a 2022 BMW 550—police said the rider was ejected and taken to Midland Memorial Hospital as the investigation continues.
