- ➤ The West Texas Food Bank is accepting essential item donations today to help people recover from deadly flooding near Kerrville—Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday at Odessa or Midland locations from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with Senior Life Midland also collecting supplies for elderly residents. - ➤ Whiskers and Tails is collecting donations for pets displaced by flooding in Kerrville and will deliver the items to Austin Pets Alive on Friday. Items can be dropped off at Midland Animal Clinic and Hospital at 3537 Andrews Hwy or at 3412 Douglas Ave. CBS7
- ➤ Michael Dunlap of Midland is preparing for a 1,245-mile bicycle ride starting August 2 to raise one million dollars for PTSD treatment for veterans and first responders. He and three fellow riders will journey from the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington to Tampa—making stops at bases and veteran posts to bring attention to mental health care. CBS7

- ➤ Today, the Midland Fire Department is sending two additional firefighters to join a Type 1 team from Odessa Fire Rescue to help with Kerrville's flood response. NewsWest9
- ➤ Odessa Fire Rescue announced today that they are sending two additional firefighter/paramedics, Division Captain Marc Brown + Captain Austin Shaffer, on a TIFMAS engine to Kerrville to support ongoing rescue operations in central Texas. This deployment follows Friday's assignment of Ben Denney + Ivan Guevara and forms one EMTF and one TIFMAS team to deliver critical lifesaving assistance. CBS7
