- ➤ After one year of the Vision Zero initiative, the City saw a 19% drop in accidents causing death or severe injuries, reflecting a notable improvement in road safety across Midland. City of Midland
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Cinergy Entertainment Group will open a new venue called Cinergy Tall City late 2025 at 4815 Loop 250 Frontage Road in Midland—bringing more than 180 new jobs to the community. The center will convert a former movie theater into an entertainment hub featuring indoor karting, escape rooms and dine-in theaters. CBS7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Investments have increased starting salaries for Midland Police Department officers to $79,201—up 19.6% since 2023 and 27.9% since 2020—and boost recruitment as the department maintains 172 sworn officers and 11 academy recruits with vacancies falling from 52 in 2019 to 19 once current recruits graduate. The department will hire beyond 202 officers if needed to further strengthen its ranks. City of Midland
