ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Texas Rangers on Friday released the names of 119 victims who died in the July Fourth floods that swept the Texas Hill Country—most were Texans or visitors from California, Florida and Alabama, and two people remain missing.  KSAT

  • Midland Police arrested two juveniles on August 8th at 8:57 a.m.—they were caught after a stolen vehicle chase in Midland.  City of Midland

EDUCATION NEWS

  • UTPB's first Introduction to Manufacturing class completed an eight‐week course and learned to operate advanced machines — including 3D printers and plasma cutters — during hands‐on training that meets local manufacturing needs. Graduates have been offered internships and job opportunities, which will help them start future careers in the industry.  CBS7
  • Odessa College announced changes to its First Class Free Scholarship program — available only during Fall 1, Fall 2, Spring 1 and Spring 2 beginning MidWinter — to help new degree-seeking students, as the scholarship covers tuition and standard fees for their first credit class and is automatically awarded upon registration.  CBS7
