- ➤ Texas DPS said there are six to eight fatal crashes monthly in the Permian Basin, sometimes reaching 15 due to speeding, distracted driving and disobeying traffic laws. DPS urged drivers to buckle up + keep phones out of hand during morning and evening rush hours. NewsWest9

- ➤ Midland police confirmed that Aiden Navarrete was arrested on a warrant for unlawful carrying of a weapon during a May 20 gang fight involving brass knuckles—his bond for the assault charge is $150,000—and police are still seeking Donavon Levario. NewsWest9

- ➤ Passenger numbers at Midland International Air & Space Port jumped 18% in July compared to 2023—nearly ensuring a new yearly record. City of Midland
