  • The Museum of the Southwest will host the returning Midland Art Festival, also known as SeptemberFest, in Midland. The event will offer a range of activities for all ages and feature a special guest that locals will not want to miss.  NewsWest9

CRIME NEWS

  • Oscar Morales, a 22-year-old from Fort Davis, was arrested in Midland on burglary of a habitation and stalking charges after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment—sending her hundreds of unwanted texts.  NewsWest9
  • A Midland woman filed a lawsuit in Ector County’s 161st District Court against Lithia Toyota of Odessa and Truist Bank after claiming her signature was forged on a vehicle contract she never approved. Her attorney said the dealership processed the deal without her consent and the suit alleges fraud, forgery, conspiracy and deceptive trade practices.  CBS7
  • On Aug. 27, Midland County deputies responded to reports of a home and work truck being shot at on the 1500 block of West County Road 135 — the victim said 5-6 loud bangs were heard at 2 a.m. and investigators recovered 9mm shell casings.  NewsWest9
  • A Midland man was arrested Monday after allegedly choking his wife six to eight times during a domestic dispute on the 3200 block of Wedgewood Avenue around 7 p.m.—two children were present and she pressed charges while he is held on a $75,000 bond.  NewsWest9

CULTURE NEWS

  • This weekend, AIRSHO 2025 will take over Midland skies to honor the 80th anniversary of World War II by showcasing historic aircraft, reenactor demonstrations, and tributes to veterans. Gates will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and flying will begin at 11 a.m.—the event is expected to end around 3:30 or 4 p.m.  CBS7

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Midland College offers free non-credit courses for adults 50 and older—classes begin on September 20 and October 20 and are held on campus and at Manor Park to enhance lifelong learning.  CBS7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Midland and TxDOT are working to install new traffic signals and improve existing ones at intersections across Midland—this project will soon help make travel safer in busy areas.  City of Midland
