- ➤ Senior Life Midland is hosting the 36th annual Texas Size Garage Sale from Oct. 3 to Oct. 4 and Oct. 8 and 18 at 407 E. Scharbauer Drive to support Meals on Wheels. The event runs daily from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with thousands of items—ranging from furniture to clothing—and free admission except $5 on Oct. 4. CBS7
- ➤ Residents received an update last week on new work starting at Beal Park—officials explained the area is set to be transformed into one of Midland's top parks. City of Midland

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Karl Boroski from R.O.P.E Youth has launched the Food First campaign to pay off Midland schools' lunch debt so all children get a regular meal—volunteers noted that kids in debt often receive only a cheese sandwich. The initiative has fed 60,000 youth over five years, has raised about $3,700 toward the current debt of over $6,000, and will be promoted next month at Texas Roadhouse and Oaks Coffee and Creative Co.
