- ➤ Oncor reported a power outage affecting about 4,500 customers in Odessa and 400 in Midland — restoration in Midland is expected by 6:00 p.m., and officials are still reviewing Odessa's schedule — updates will be provided as more information becomes available. CBS7
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ JumpStart Midland launched its 'Math Ain’t Mathin'' campaign to help raise math scores after only 39 percent of Midland ISD students were meeting grade level, and concerned parents shared that scores dropped since COVID—board members presented the plan at Monday night's meeting and school officials said they would add tutoring and intervention programs. The group plans to work with district leaders to build lasting math foundations in schools. NewsWest9
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The I-20 Wildlife Preserve has been renamed Watersong Wild Space — a name chosen to reflect the playa environment and the sound of moving water, board president Elaine Magruder said. Executive Director Wes Faris added that the park will soon build its Nature Commons to offer an education wing, community science, and event space. CBS7
