- ➤ Local artist Carrie Hawkins of Pearly Gates Designs has partnered with Bauble Stockings to offer holiday miniature stockings that donate 10% of each sale to the Midland Community Children’s Clinic. - ➤ This week, Midland and Odessa host community events including Tuesday’s City Council meeting at 2 p.m. and the City Council and ODC meeting at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday’s Nutcracker at Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center, Thursday’s Operation Safe Paws, and Saturday’s Take Me Fishing at Comanchie Trail South Pond. City offices will be closed for Thanksgiving on November 27 and 28—while the KOB Facility and Odessa Animal Services close on November 29 and the Helping Hands Community Lawn Care Program continues for the month. - ➤ Midland County has installed a new prescription medicine drop box in the lobby of Sgt. Michael Naylor Law Enforcement Complex at 1703 E. County Road 120 for safe and anonymous drop off of unused prescription pills. Residents may drop off medications during business hours via the Emergency Management side rear entrance and the pills will be collected for proper disposal by a participating pharmacy — keeping water supplies safe.
