Good morning, Midland.

Local business owner Debbie Bergen, who has run her company for 21 years, was named this month’s Hendrick’s Hero after her husband nominated her for her work with groups like Senior Life Midland, Pink the Basin, and Saving True Pairs—she helped raise over half a million dollars for local mammogram vouchers.

Earlier this week, One Bite at a Time Ministries hosted its Gobble Up Cancer event at Fairmont Park Church of Christ — delivering complete Thanksgiving dinners to cancer patients and their families with meals from Costco, H-E-B, and pies from Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop, all prepared and delivered by local volunteers.

The Salvation Army served free Thanksgiving meals on Thursday with the help of 20 volunteers and is serving free lunch today for anyone in need—continuing nearly a decade of community support in Midland.
